A New Way to Rate Customer Experience

Feb 11th, 2011 | By | Category: Technology

This week, we crossed paths with a new mobile ap that allows you to rate customer service experiences. With Tello, you can rate stores, restaurants, dry cleaners and any other business in the country.

TelloWhile it may look like other location-based  services, particularly Yelp, Tello is not about earning badges or titles or seeing where your friends checked in, it’s about rating how you perceived a particular business treated you.

This means both good news and bad for businesses. On the upside, good reviews can drive traffic to their door, while negative reviews can scare it away.

With Tello, you can search for businesses by name or by your current location. You can also view all Tello ratings in one tab and your own in another.

When creating a review, you can rate both your overall customer experience and the employee with whom you interacted. The down side to the system is that you can only grant the business a thumbs up or thumbs down.

All of your ratings instantly appear on tello.com and are viewable by other users of the ap.

Another cool feature is the ability to request an e-mail reply from the business you rate.

A future enhancement will allow companies to claim their business on Tello. It may even allow businesses to send coupons to customers who rate their operations.
